AI Agents Nearly Doubled in 3 Weeks — and They Book Appointments on Your Site
Microsoft just added a dashboard that shows which AI agents hit your site and what they do there — including booking appointments.

Microsoft says the number of AI agents almost doubled in three weeks, to nearly 2 million. Microsoft Clarity also added a dashboard that shows which AI agents come to your site and what they do after they land — searches, form fills, appointment bookings. Here is what I would do with it this week.
Microsoft Says the Agent Count Nearly Doubled in Three Weeks
Microsoft Clarity added three new features: agentic analytics, Ask Clarity, and an expansion of Brand Agents, according to Search Engine Roundtable. In the same write-up, Microsoft said the number of AI agents almost doubled in just three weeks, reaching nearly 2 million.
Three weeks. That is the part that should stop you.
I keep coming back to that number. Not because it is big, but because of what those agents do once they land on a website.
Clarity's new Agent Activity dashboard tracks how agent traffic shifts over time and which agents show up, plus what each one does after it arrives. Microsoft says that covers searches, form fills, logins, downloads, bookings and checkout. Appointment bookings. On a website like yours.

Here Is What Clarity Actually Added
Three things landed, and they do different jobs, according to Search Engine Roundtable.
Agentic analytics. It shows you which AI agents come to a site and what they do there, and it lets you test whether an agent can finish something that matters, like checkout. That second part is the interesting one. You are checking whether a machine can finish a job on your site.
Ask Clarity. You ask a question in plain language about how people behave on your site, and you get answers and suggestions drawn from real session data. The write-up compares it to the Ask Analytics feature for Google Analytics, also known as Ask Advisor. If you have ever stared at a traffic report and had no idea what to do next, this is aimed at you.
Brand Agents. Microsoft is expanding these to local businesses, so they can capture leads and book appointments, and to help products get found in Microsoft Copilot, Bing and MSN.
Then there are the simulations. You can check your site before a real customer journey fails, to see whether an agent can finish the tasks that matter. The simulation reports whether the task got done, how long it took and how many interactions it needed, and points to where the experience could get better. The catch is that Microsoft is starting with commerce and travel and plans to add more types of customer journeys later.
So if you run an HVAC company or a roofing crew, simulations may not cover your customer journey yet. The Agent Activity dashboard is part of the new features Clarity added today.
Why Microsoft Is Doing This Now
According to the article, Brand Agents had already been discussed, and Microsoft is now extending them to neighborhood companies. The piece also observes that Ask Clarity resembles Google Analytics' Ask Analytics.
My read, and this is opinion: this is a grab for the moment a homeowner asks an AI assistant for a contractor. Microsoft wants that answer to come from its side of the fence. It wants local businesses signed up before their competitors are.
My read: the boring stuff — your forms, your page speed, your phone number — just became the thing that decides whether you get found.
What It Means for an HVAC Company
Picture an HVAC company in the middle of a July heat wave. A homeowner opens Copilot or Bing and asks for AC repair nearby. Brand Agents are aimed at helping local businesses bring in leads and set appointments, and at helping products get found across Copilot, Bing and MSN.
Then something lands on your website. Clarity's dashboard will tell you which agent showed up and what it did after it arrived — a search, a form fill, or an appointment booking.
Here is my read, and it is only my read: the HVAC company with a short form and a tap-to-call button gets the booking. The one with a long form on a slow mobile page gives that agent more places to fall over. The dashboard will show you which company you are.
My read: if an agent starts a form and never finishes it, treat that as a sign the form is getting in the way.
What It Means for a Roofing Contractor
Picture a roofing contractor two days after a hail storm. Homeowners across one zip code are looking at the same time, and some of them are typing into an AI assistant instead of calling.
The source says agents do everything from searches and form fills to appointment bookings and checkout. So an inspection request can be started by a machine, not a person.
My read: roofing is a trust business, so an agent is not going to close anything for you. But it will decide whether the request ever reaches your office. If your site is slow on a phone, or your inspection form asks for eight things before it asks for a phone number, you never see the name.
That is the part I would lose sleep over. Not the robot. The lead that never showed up in your inbox.
How to Use This in Your Business This Week
- Find the dashboard. If Clarity is already running on your site, log in and look for the Agent Activity dashboard. Give it 15 minutes.
- Write down this week's number. The dashboard is built to show how agent traffic shifts over time. A single day tells you nothing. A trend line tells you whether this is growing in your market.
- Read what agents did once they arrived. The list from the source runs from searches and form fills to logins, downloads, bookings and checkout. For an HVAC or roofing site, two of those matter: form fills and appointment bookings. If agents start forms and do not finish them, you have found your problem.
- Ask Clarity plain-language questions. This is the easiest part and the one most owners will skip. You ask a question and get an answer built on real session data. Three to start with:
- Show me every session in the last 30 days where a visitor reached my AC repair page and submitted the form.
- Which pages on my roofing site get the most visitors who leave without filling out the inspection request form?
- What did visitors do on my site last week before they booked an appointment?
- Check whether simulations cover you yet. They start with commerce and travel. If you sell HVAC service or roofing, you are probably waiting. Check back once a month.
- Fix the one thing the data points at. If the answer is a long form, shorten it. If it is a slow page on a phone, that is a different fix. Change one thing, then check the same number again next week.
- Put it on the calendar. Fifteen minutes, same day every week. A trend line only works if you look at it more than once.

Mistakes I See Owners Make With This
- Treating agent traffic as junk. My read: do not dismiss agent form fills or bookings as junk. Follow up and see what happened.
- Waiting for the perfect tool. Simulations start with commerce and travel, and more journey types are planned later. The Agent Activity dashboard is part of the new features. Use what you have today.
- Looking once. One day of agent traffic is noise. The whole point of the dashboard is change over time.
- Blaming the visitor. If an agent cannot finish a task on your site, a rushed homeowner on a phone probably cannot either. Same problem, different visitor.
Where This Usually Ends Up: Your Website
Every one of those steps leads to the same place. The dashboard shows what agents do, and the simulations show where tasks fail. The fix is almost always the page they were standing on when it happened.
If Clarity tells you agents are starting forms and not finishing them, a shorter form and a tap-to-call button are the fastest things to test. Not the prettiest. The fastest.
If you want eyes on the pages that matter for an HVAC company or a roofing contractor, the button below is the next step.
